Chief Engineer – Seafox 5

Workfox B.V.

Workfox B.V. is the exclusive manager for the Seafox fleet and currently operates five jack-up accommodation platforms. Currently the Seafox 5 is being build in Singapore to arrive in Q3-2012, therefore Workfox is looking for permanent crew members.

 

Job Requirements:

  • A Nautical College degree (MBO/ HBO)
  • In possession of a valid certificate of competence in accordance with STCW’95
  • Chief Engineer “All Vessels” – No limitations
  • Valid STCW ’95 / Offshore Certificates
  • Master in English in all aspects

 

Job Tasks:

  • The Chief Engineer is responsible for the day to day supervision of the technical aspects of the unit, and responsible for maintenance of the unit through delegation from the OIM/ Captain/ DPO
  • Assist the OIM/ Captain/ DPO in command of emergencies.
  • Maintain discipline amongst the engine room staff.
  • Scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, repair and administration of all unit equipment and machinery including hull and equipment added to the unit to carry out particular operations.
  • Accurately maintaining logs for all unit related equipment, such as engine room equipment, and electrical, deck machinery and equipment, hull, hotel facilities.
  • Maintaining current and complete vendors manuals for all unit related equipment.
  • Warehousing and ensuring, through uniform stock and quantity control, that adequate inventory and level of spares is maintained at all times.
  • Correct entry of maintenance records.
  • Implementation of the permit to work system when work activities are being carried out on technical aspects of the unit, in consultation with the OIM/ Captain/ DPO
  • Establish and maintain a filing system within his area of responsibility and in accordance with the company’s policies.
  • Liaison with the First Officer/ DPO on maintenance of fire fighting and safety equipment as instructed by the OIM/ Captain/ DPO
  • Maintenance of mechanical aspects of fire fighting and safety equipment, e.g. fire pumps etc.
  • Trip report to be submitted to the Rig Manager including preventive and breakdown maintenance status.
  • The Chief Engineer shall ensure that the responsibility for the safety of electrical works, is only assigned to individuals who comply with the qualification and competence requirements as specified by the company.
  • The Chief Engineer shall ensure that individuals which have been given the responsibility for the safety of electrical works, have the required authority for being accountable for the safety of electrical works.
  • The Chief Engineer shall ensure that the Electrician is provided with the protective equipment, work equipment, measurement and test equipment to ensure that he can carry out electrical works safely.
  • The Chief Engineer is responsible for the safe operation of the jacking system and liaison with all personnel involved in the particular jacking operation taking place.
